Ranger

When Denali first became a park, a series of Park Ranger cabins were constructed to provide shelter as they monitors what went on.

We happened upon one of them on a walk where Happy Harry was waiting for a tour group to tell of how things were in the old days.

Today some of the cabins are still used when Rangers do their winter patrols on dogsled.  One of the cabins is in use by one artist at a time in the park's Artist in Residence program.  Each must donate a piece of work to the park.  Ten of them were at the Eielson Visitor Center.

A day in Alaska is not complete without color.
Bearflowers.

Haven't looked this one up yet, so can't name it.
