Mew Gulls and a Common Merganser

Mew Gulls are common in this part of Alaska. We found them nesting near a pass and also at sea-level here in Valdez. The Common Mergansers nest along fast-moving mountain streams, where young Bald Eagles can be be seen waiting for the salmon run to begin.
